EMCORE Corporation is at the forefront of the of the solar power movement. With alternative energy at high demand, EMCORE is contiously innovating their photovoltaic technolgy to meet these ever growing needs. Photovoltaic technology allows sunlight to be transferred into electricity. The technology is growing more then ever, EMCORE has just entered into a $28 million supply agreement with ES System of Gwang-Ju, South Korea, for solar cell receivers to be fielded in fully licensed and funded solar farms in South Korea. The agreement will enable the installation of 70 MW of solar farms, the companies say. Production for the order has commenced, and shipments are scheduled to occur over the next 24 months. All Emcore solar cell receivers are being integrated into ES System concentrated photovoltaic units at their manufacturing facilities in Gwang-Ju City, Korea. EMCORE has deals with countries all over the world such as South Korea, but the USA has been last in the world when trying to incorporate alternative energy and are behind the rest of the world with regards to alternative energy. With oil prices on a constant rise, the USA lack of alternative energy resources may hurt the US people, but EMCORE may be the solution to the energy problems that face many Americans on a daily basis.
